The Story

The seed for Covered Cross was planted many years ago, by the Holy Spirit who knows the desires of my heart. The desire—find a way to come "home" from my corporate job so that I could be more available to the people God called me to serve first, my husband and my children. The opportunity to start my own agriculture real estate appraisal practice was placed on my heart as a way to continue serving  American  agriculture (something I am incredibly passionate about), while also embracing and prioritizing my calling to fulfill kingdom work through my roles of wife and mother.

 

God has blessed me with natural talents that I have refined through years of experience and endless education that I believe serve the appraisal profession well. Covered Cross allows me to contribute financially to my household while fulfilling the meaningful duties of motherhood. Additionally, and perhaps equally as important, this endeavor provides the opportunity for generational longevity and success in the real estate appraisal industry should any (or all) of my four children show an interest in the profession.

Rooted in faith, the name “Covered Cross” carries profound significance. While the covered cross is our family's cattle brand, the meaning behind it is much deeper. It symbolizes the ultimate act of grace and love—the covering of our sin debt by Jesus Christ through His perfect sacrifice on the cross. Jesus' birth, life, ministry, death by crucifixion, and resurrection on the third day fulfilled prophecy, proving he is the Messiah. Because the lamb conquered death, eternal life through salvation is available to all who believe that Jesus is Lord.

My steadfast commitment to serving American agriculture runs deep. I dedicated a 13-year career to the Farm Credit system and understand the vital importance of this sector to the American—and specifically, the West Texas—economy. It's an honor to support the heart of rural America by providing high-quality, timely appraisals backed by experience and education. ​
